I was born on September 11, 1978 in a military base hospital in Seoul, Korea. I grew up a military brat...specifically in Korea and Japan. I became obsessed with reading the written word at a very young age and would have rather sat alone in my closet reading books by candlelight eating jars of pickles than attend school. I also started playing and composing music when I was very little...converting songs from films such as Terminator, Conan The Barbarian and Beverly Hills Cop into techno versions on my small casio keyboard. I loved writing short stories, illustrating my own little books and playing with puppets!
On Writing...
My friends and I formed a writing group, Ye Olde Scriblets. It reminded me of my joy of writing. I decided that I wanted to write a book. Next thing I knew was that I wrote a book. It's called The Dreamer. It is part one of a young adult's science fiction trilogy. I am now in the process of writing my second, third, fourth and FIFTH! I am the happiest I've ever been while writing and I hope I continue having revelations.
On Puppets...
I have started making puppet movies and videos under scared girl robot productions. You can view the videos on my youtube channel. Hopefully one day it will grow into something bigger. I hope to have a real show soon. It will be called Make-Believe Mansion, a puppet variety show geared towards children of all ages!
On ART...
I am constantly working on art-pieces. I work with many different mediums but my favorite would have to be pen & ink and acrylics! I am planning on organizing then "having" art shows in the future. I had a few art shows in Seattle while living there and hopefully I can start having them again! Check out a few new paintings from my current series. I also create mystery creatures called Little Accidents.
On Music...
I continue writing and playing music under the name of Scared Girl and am also in a band with my husband Matthew called Fake French. I have about a dozen more music projects I'm involved with.
On Living...
I currently live in El Cerrito, CA next to a magical eucalyptus forest on a hill with my wonderful husband and invisible future dream dog. I teach little children art, music, drama, moviemaking, creative writing and crafts.
